Re: Stew & the Doors (not really off-topic but maybe a little)
Hi everyone! After the untimely death of John Entwhistle, it occurred to my daughter that the Who is missing their original bass player and drummer, and that Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr aren't really all that busy.... now I realize the bass player from the Police is not available ;-), but wouldn't the Who be a better choice than the Doors for Stew? Any other suggestions for a better "hybrid"? Have a great weekend! Holly
Hello everybody out there, this is Giovanni from Milano! A few up-dates by my side! Andy Summers: the new record should be ready very soon, by the end of the month, but I think it will take some time to be released; for what I know it sounds more like the records Andy did in the past like 'Charming Snakes' and 'The Golden Wire', and that is great! Anyway I really admire Andy musical attitude, that makes him always interesting and I always look forward to hear what he has to release! Stewart Copeland: I just heard the live recording of the House Of Blues concert with the DOORS and I would suggest everybody to listen to it!!!!! Stewart is doing a great job, no matter if you like the DOORS or not! This is amazing; I never been into THE DOORS that much, even if I appreciated their great support to rock history! I likes some of their hits, and Jim Morrison is like a saint in the rock world and now, listening to this new arrangements and Stewart drumming, believe me, it's great! Stew at the top! He should come to Italy for a tour but I don't know if it will be confirmed, as it seems like they had a great feedback and soon will start working on more stuff! Sting: Sting started recording last week in Tuscany. Any other news has already been mentioned on various sites. (off topic) Myself: my single released last year has been included in a succesful compilation in Poland, together with artists like Lenny Kravitz, Britney Spears, Robbie Williams, Emma Bunton and many others! This month the song will be included in a compilation to be released in the U$A. If there is anybody into Terence Trent D'arby, I just started working with him promoting his new revised album 'Wild Card - The Jokers' Edition; he just signed fot the label where I work and a colleague of mine and me are the ones who take cares of him; he lives in Milan now, and I always admired him, since the beginning back in 1996/7. Big kiss to everybody!
