SOMEDUDE, you are probably the smartest "dude" around. Stewart Copeland is not only the BEST FUCKING DRUMMER OF ALL TIME, he is still kind of a kid at heart. He looked like he was having the time of his life playing with those two, meanwhile "King of Shitheads", aka Sting, looked like he had somewhere else he wanted to be. Stewart gets to play with the likes of Trey Anastasio and Les Claypool letting a whole new generation realize the genius of his drumming. All sorts of new drummers, Taylor Hawkins and Chad Smith have listed Stewart and their biggest influence. SOMEDUDE you are totally right, Way to go Stew!!!!!!
Hi there everybody! I haven't seen the show on tv yet, but I can understand everybody when you talk about Stewart power on drums! He was like that while playing with Orchestralli in Italy, even if there is a big difference talking about songs of course, but the energy was there, really intact. It's time for me to spread part of the videos I did during the 5 days I spent with him in Italy, lots of stuff, lots of stuff; I'll be ready with a 2 hour videotape where you will see Stewart as you have never seen him....and will listen to some masterpiece rhythms! Nothing's complete yet; I won't charge anything as it's not my intention, but I guess I might receive lots of requests; we may do some swaps if you like. I repeat nothing's ready yet but I'll be glad to share this experience with everybody; I couldn't do it before as I haven't seen the whole stuff since now due to lack of free time. CHECK SOME NEW UP-DATES ON WWW.STEWARTCOPELAND.IT ; get into the news section and you will see the links. Ciao ciao Giovanni Ps.: anybody from UK who can videotape the HOF show for me and for Lydia? Ps2.: hope to see you all during the next STING tour! -----Messaggio originale----- Da: police-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:police-bounces@mailman.xmission.com]Per conto di Rhythmatist17@aol.com Inviato: lunedì 17 marzo 2003 20.31 A: police@mailman.xmission.com Oggetto: Re: [Police] Way to Go Stew SOMEDUDE, you are probably the smartest "dude" around. It really is a blessing Sting does not hire drummers that break snare drums during Every Breath. It is also a testimony as to why Sting should no longer be in a band. Anyone knowing a bit about music understands that there are times you play in the pocket, allowing the song to breath instead of being an individualist distraction. Stewart was great during Roxanne but he overplayed on Every Breath so much so that he fucked up his snare. Andy was great on both songs!
