I think we should take a breather for a minute, and appreciate that the song and album isn't officially released yet.... And yet here we are, all rushing to criticise it. Imagine how damaging this could be, if news of this "awful" new song spreads through the grapevine, when it turns out not to be an album track.... Surely we should consider material like this as "Work in Progress", until we get a commercial copy in our hands... Then I think we'll be in a more legitimate position to bury the song. I remember him saying that he used to think that he needed to be in some kind of turmoil in order to be truly creative. He later changed his mind about that notion.
