Rich said: this was a great performance. however, one of the things i will always unfortunately remember about this was the "jam" performed by sting/band: on the 2cd, cd1 is the rehearsal, where they practice the "jam". then, during the show (right before "message"), they played it, sting telling the audience afterwards that they "just made it up" - the implication i took from that was that they just made it up on the stage (to paraphrase thelonious monk, straight, no rehearsal) the renditions of "message", EBYT and "tea in the sahara" are absolutely outstanding... rich --------- Hi Rich, I've listened to both discs very closely and can't find what you're talking about. The "Red Light Green Light" jam was very much an improvised moment during the MTV Unplugged taping- it's started up by Vinnie then David hits the piano chords. I can't find the musical ideas for it anywhere on the rehearsal disc. Do you have a track number/time listing? The rehearsal disc IS a treat with lots of great moments: * Sting realizing that the band must adapt "Message In A Bottle" from their rehearsed "electric version" * "Can we use this time to rehearse?" * Working out an approach to "Why Should I Cry For You" * Arranging "Mad About You" * Vinx's Harry Belafonte impression during "Every Breath You Take" * A Spanish version of "Fragile" * The psychotically fast bossa nova version of "Fragile" that immediately followed! * Attempts at "The Soul Cages", "Need Your Love So Bad" and "How Insensitive" thanks, Brian -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .

I'm sure I've seen this listed somewhere... If I'm correct, it's a Brazilian release, and while it's not necessarily a 'bootleg' or pirate version, I've got a feeling the quality of the video wouldn't be that good. I bought the Page and Plant Unledded DVD (not available ANYWHERE else on DVD except in Brazil), and they apparently have bought the rights to produce DVD's from several record companies.... However, it looks like VHS or dodgy Betacam transfers. The sound on my Page and Plant DVD is 5.1, and not bad, but the picture quality is awful.... I think the Sting unplugged DVD is by the same company - though I haven't bought it, so can't be 100% sure. J.
