Little late writing this... it was a wonderful couple days attending this followed by meeting many of the list members in Vegas Friday night. What a way to end a 2+ year tour! My wife and I attended the Silver Lining event Thursday night. We were bused from the Kaiser parking lot on Sunset to the estate at around 6pm. Once we arrived there was an open bar, buffet, clothing for sale and an art auction. We did spot Elton walking into the house but once I realized who it was it was too late. We had bought the $500 tickets which included admission to a PIT area in front of the stage. The seats were being sold as reserved however when we got there it was GA seating with some pillows to sit on toward the front or some folding chairs at the back area of the PIT. For those who bought the 250 TM tickets I would say they could see very little unless they were at the very front of the area behind the PIT. The seats for 1000 and 1500 were on a raised platform to the left and right of the stage (Sting's wife Trudie was sitting in one of those areas... and possibly Sting before he performed) - those seats included a full course dinner (and in my opinion a very limited view - unless you were on the front rail). This setting was very nice (though cold) with trees as a backdrop to the stage... and absolutely none of the security you see at normal concerts (i.e., security between you and the stage). Plus the stage was only about 1-2ft from the ground. We took our spot behind two other ladies in the center stage. Before the show members of Sting's band were hanging around the backyard area next to the mansion/house. After Elton played (for about 1hr) I went back to the same area and there was Sting hanging around with many people taking pictures (though they had said cameras weren't allowed). I got a handshake and a few words. A few minutes later Sting took the stage. It was a very incredible show with Sting sitting on a stool wearing his black/gray turtleneck sweater for most of the show. He took it off and rolled up one of his sleves half-way through. Anyway the set-list is something like that below... After Sting played we left (around 11pm). Sting, Trudie and David Spade left together right before us. On the way out I asked Sting to shake my wife's hand - which he did. Some other lady also handed him a cell phone and asked him to talk to her friend... I was suprised to see him do that... he talked for about 1-2 minutes. One final note ... I was very surprised to see Sting and Elton take the stage before the other acts... as the reviews have said there must have only been a handful of people left.
