Hi all, I think that my most prized release is probably the Strontium 90 album. It's a wonderful insight into the early days of The Police - something to bridge the gap between the rare Last Exit stuff which has so far proved impossible for me to track down, and early Police bootlegs, which are also thin on the ground. You can already see what will one day make them the biggest band in the world, especially the long jams on some of the live tracks. This CD also contains two of my favourite tracks - the first recording of "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic",(indeed, the Ghost-era studio version of this is my favourite track by any artist) and the live performance of "3 O'Clock Shit".The former is so poignant, and its vocals have everything which makes me love Sting's voice so much - the range, the raw quality, the fragility and the emotion. The latter is close behind "Magic" in my favourites list. This live version of "3 O'Clock Shit" is great in so many ways - I think it even surpasses the version from the Mont du Marsan gig. Come to think of it,my limited edition bootleg CD of Mont du Marsan is my second most prized item... Angeline

Hello all,
I usually don't post three messages in a month, much less one day. Nonetheless, I was wondering if all on the list would like to share what their most prized Sting/Police release is, official or otherwise. =20 For me, I covet my Acoustic Live in Newcastle EP, and "unofficially" covet my Police "Walking, Don't Stand So Lonely" 2 CD set. =20 =20 I love all of my CDs. I have around 40 official/unofficial CDs in my collection. =20 Just wondering what everyone thought. I'll shut up now. =20 Don in Sunny Florida =20 =20

Sting - The Complete Chicago Sessions (If you are on WINMX, search for "Sting Chicago" and listen to why). The sessions are played the way the musicians wanted to play them as opposed to how the record companies or concert audiences had always requested. It was the predecessor to "All This Time"

Thanks, Fred, for the info and the link -- I have been a huge fan of John Mayer, and all without knowing about his admiration for things Sting and Police. What great recordings these are! Anyone who hasn't heard him should give him a listen; he has great chordings and lyrics, sung with much feeling! Worth buying his cd. (Obviously influenced by the bestt! :)

John Mayer is obviously a huge Police fan -- not only does he cover Message in a Bottle and Tea in The Sahara, he also references Wrapped Around Your Finger in his song "83" and last week, he performed live in Central Park and started 83 with the first verse of King Of Pain, and ended the song with Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! Two 1983 songs to bookend 83!
Hope you enjoy this version -- it's a good one.

<HTML><FONT FACE=arial, helvetica><FONT COLOR="#0000ff" SIZE=2>Thanks, Fred, for the info and the link -- I have been a huge fan of John Mayer, and all without knowing about his admiration for things Sting and Police. What great recordings these are! Anyone who hasn't heard him should give him a listen; he has great chordings and lyrics, sung with much feeling! Worth buying his cd. Hi Don! I posted this info here last week, along with the link to cdbaby. Check out my webpage for a link to the bands NEW, OFFICIAL webpage, news about the bands new recording contract, lots of photos, reveiws, media reports, and some songs from S&R and from their live gig at Haldern. And remember, this cd is out of print, so once the remainder are sold, there will be no more.

Hi all, message #4. =20
I guess I should have phrased my earlier e-mail a little bit better.
What I had meant to say earlier this morning was that the SB CD that wasn't in stock all of this week, was as of today in stock and now available to purchase at cdbaby.com.
What had happened was the CD was in stock over last weekend, but had sold out and wasn't in stock on Monday morning. I was one of the folks who got all of your info on Monday morning, and I had been checking every day to see when the CD would get back in stock.
Nonetheless, this is a great CD that everyone should try to get before it goes out of stock again.
Thanks for the follow-up link, it has a lot of great stuff!
Anyone think that Sting would have his son's band open for him on his next tour?

It IS a great cd, when I first got it i could not get it out of my cd player! If anyone out there had their 2nd cd, the one they were recently selling at their shows, and would like to trade it for a copy of Swings and ROUndabouts, or even sell it outright, please email me!!!
