MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE (NEW CLASSIC ROCK MIX)
I know this is from the release "Every Breath You Take - The Classics"" I never bought it however as I could never hear the difference between this and the original. It's been a few years so maybe my recollection is fuzzy. Can anyone tell me the difference? Ross
Couldn't tell you... I think the bass drum might be a bit more pronounced, but that's the only idea that came to mind hearing it. Perhaps playing them side by side would help? David[Man in a Suitcase]
The two sound very similar to me as well, and the CD shows only a 1-second difference in song duration. When I listen to them side-by-side I think the original is driven more my the bass whereas in the classic rock mix Andy's guitar is more forward in the mix - you hear the swirly guitar sounds more. The drums (in particluar Stewart's high hat) seem more forward in the classic rock mix too. The difference seems most notable at the start of the song, but if you were to turn on the radio and catch the song halfway through, for example, I don't think you would know which version you were listenting to....well, at least I wouldn't!
