Hey everyone, Chicago's radio station WXRT just reported around 1:30PM that The Police are working on a new album; the DJ indicated that new material is being written! Has anyone else heard about this? I cannot find confirmation on either the Police or Sting official web sites. Before I start spreading rumors, I want to make sure I have the facts straight. I'm also contacting the radio station to see what more information they can provide. Doesn't sound like they're working on a new CD right now, but certainly a couple of songs..and Andy says if things go well over the course of the tour, it's something they would consider. Hi from Giovanni. When I spoke to Stewart about what was happening (early days of January when the whole thing was kinda secret), he said they would have thoght that possible new recording could come out due to the three different solo career experiences...getting them all together would lead to a new and fresh sound...he said they were happy to play (mainly jam) together and see if something new could come out...that was then.... I guess that a couple of new songs will be probably released within this year, maybe inside another compilation, maybe as studio tracks on a live album, I sincerely have no confirmation, but this is usually the logical step. As to a new album, well, Andy said that but not for this year.
