Nigel Gray teased this on Ian's message board. He's been talking with Sting about it, apparently. Discuss...... LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) Details of a new comedy musical featuring music from Sting and The Police have been revealed. The show, that is to be called Every Breath You Take, is a project that has been on Sting's mind for quite a while. "When I saw Moulin Rouge and way Roxanne was re-interpreted, I knew that my music could work in this genre" said Sting, one of the world's most popular songwriters. "It's an exciting project that could really appeal to a wide audience, and that's something that I've always aimed at" Boosted on by the recent sucess of the ABBA and QUEEN musicals, Sting says that despite the fact that a scenario has yet to be written, the main theme would be auto-biographical, loosely based around his recent bestseller, Broken Music. "I'm toying with different ideas, one of them being to transpose the songs into another historical period, like during the Second World War or the french revolution, with arrangements that would translate into that moment of history" Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers, ex-band members from the Police, are reportedly said to be quite upset that their musical legacy is getting the song and dance treatment. But Sting seems determined "Well, the fact is they're my songs. So I can do what I want with them, you have to move on !" Reuters/Hollywood Reporter
