I found it a little disturbing at first, but see the marketing angle behind it. Even though those colors bring back memories of bad perms, big shoulder pads, and horrible clothing colors for me, that's where they want us to be. Just seeing those familiar colors/logos makes us subliminally want to buy those tickets. I also think for the "casual" fan they need to attract, they had to remind them that The Police went out on top of the world and nothing has changed, choose them to blow your money on this summer! My .02, an I'm sure it's not even worth that! Michelle In a message dated 3/2/07 1:47:04 PM, jsmessier@gmail.com writes:
I have been thinking about this for a couple of weeks since the announcement of the upcoming tour. I find it interesting that The Police are using the "Yellow, Blue, Red" theme from the Synchronicity era. I would have thought that they would have come up with a new look that relying on the old. But then again, the Synchronicity brand is very recognizable, so maybe that is why they have continued to go with it. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Cheers, Jon

They've also inserted a little Ghost In the Machine nod down in the bottom right corner where they link you to their individual websites. I always thought that would make a cool Police portal - a black screen with the 3 GITM icons, each one leading to their website. I'm just not that capable with website development.
