I have to agree with Maggie. Much as I like Chris Botti, I like a certain amount of inertia before the main act. But at the same time, he really shouldn't be relegated to sideman status at this point in his career (I was actually surprised someone of his stature was a band member for so long during the BND tour), and I wonder if him potentially sitting in with Sting's band during the main set was dependent on getting the opening slot as a solo act. Or maybe it was just easier to have a member of "the family" take the slot. Ooooh, I'm so cynical....
