RE: [Police] Sting in Dublin and Belfast
(quoting Jason) ============================================= Probably shouldn't be asking this ... lets JUST say I might like a recording of this concert and it was LEGAL to do .... what would be the best device to do it with ?? then I MIGHT be able to trade ... ahem Jason in Ireland ============================================ ^^ Uh.... what he said, with a location change. Purely for my theoretical interest. Especially theoretical since the blasted (I'm really trying not to lose my temper over this) fanclub didn't even bother to inform me that they had screwed up my membership renewal, and I only found out when I went to the site to see about the advance ticket offer for Belfast. I tried to sign into the members' area, and it said that my membership had run out and they hadn't been able to debit my account for the coming year's membership. It claimed some problem with the card, even though the card is not remotely near to its expiration date, and I've had no other problems with online transactions with it. Why am I not surprised that the first time there's a problem, it's with this club? I still have to sort that out... Oh yeah: Belfast. Yay Sting! Ticket prices aren't as bad as I'd thought; £4.75 increase on the Waterfront Hall prices of four years ago ain't bad... It automatically renews???? How do I cancel??? I don't want to renew... I don't remember seeing the option to allow them to continue charging my card. J. Jason, you should read fan club renewal policy more carefully. They just automatically charge you and there is no escape!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, sorry, I'm just kidding! Pardon me my Latvian sense of humour! In front of it Monty Python seems like children playing! :) :) :) :) You can cancel your membership (I'm telling you that from my own experience!). But to be honest I just don't remember how I did it?! Neither I know why I did cancel it, because I wasn't planning to do it. But I also got this very strange message that they couldn't charge my card for some reason (Angeline - you aren't alone in your city of grief LOL). So I was kind of pissed off and cancelled it. Now if I want to renew it, I should check in with a different user name (instead of pandababy it could be panda baby which would make me unrecognizable altogether LOL). To keep this "amazing" story short, you log into your account and among different options at the bottom of the page there is option given "Cancel Account" - If you wish to cancel your account, click here. I take that CLICK HERE is where you go! LOL LOL LOL A word of wisdom here before I go back to work - don't leave us! :))))))))) Cheers, Panda baby -----Original Message----- From: Jason Sheldon [mailto:jason@digital-solutions.co.uk] Sent: Friday, September 03, 2004 7:31 AM To: police@mailman.xmission.com Subject: RE: [Police] Sting in Dublin and Belfast It automatically renews???? I know... In my business, I should know better than to skip the fine print.... Anyway, luckily, when I logged into my account, I also had the "we had not been able to charge your card" message. They could have sent an email couldn't they? Managed to cancel the membership... Though I do wonder if they were going to charge the $65 fee again... As other than the CD we already have, there isn't any other difference between that and the standard membership... Unless they're going to do a new CD every year. Who knows? I'll bet when he does the rescheduled Birmingham gig in November, there's a fan-club members only promotion.... ;-/ Anyway, I'm not leaving the list... I tried the fanclub for a year (never experienced the Outlandos club, which I've heard was much better), and personally, wasn't impressed. No disrespect to those working behind the scenes, I just didn't think it was worth the money. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but foresight would be better... :) J -----Original Message----- From: police-bounces+jason=digital-solutions.co.uk@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:police-bounces+jason=digital-solutions.co.uk@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Panda Sent: Wednesday, September 08, 2004 3:07 PM To: police@mailman.xmission.com Subject: RE: [Police] Sting in Dublin and Belfast [how to cancel] Jason, you should read fan club renewal policy more carefully.
