Well as frustrating as I find it, the fact remains that Jer, Deb, Paul, Andy, etc would not be in the cool shows, if they hadn't put in the effort and time. I'm not sure how this can be up for debate. While fortune may fall upon them, you can't convince me that if they hadn't flown, waited, or paid for the shows (for which I envy them, make no mistake) that they would have received a call from Miles, saying "Where the hell are you? We have several front row seats, at this show that and the other" or any other decision maker. Our LA trip is perfect example. To speak in a statistical terms, It's about repeating an experiment until the desired outcome occurs. These "lucky" people went to the effort, and sometimes expense to make what happens, happen. Bastards:) I'm jealous as hell and I admit it. Ross
You guys have really missed the boat on this one. At no point in anything I wrote did I ever suggest that spending money, or traveling to shows makes any of us more of real fans, all I suggested is that if you make these efforts, then you will find that sometimes you are rewarded. As for the talk of the money we spend, if you only knew my income !!, I bet I make less than 90% of you, and most of these things do not cost money, Tuscany was free, the flight to Florence was 93 pounds return (135 dollars).... We often get our tickets for free, and as pointed out, plenty of these shows are free, Tops of the pops, radio 2, central park, Tuscany... This isn't about money, it isn't about competition, it is about just following a reality that I want to follow. If the police were playing a show in New York on March 10th, and tickets were normal ticket prices, how many of you would go ?, you still have to pay for airfare and accommodation. Or let me guess, Sting should do his reunion show with the Police in Des Moines, or Buttplug Indiana ?. There is no argument here, I am just telling you what we do, it isn't a competition, I don't claim to be more of a fan, those who know me know that. Jeremy
