Re: [Police] Rolling Stone, TV spots and Gabriel's Message
Hi guys, Rolling Stone magazine has a feature on the 500 albums they consider to be the greatest. As with their Greatest Guitarists list, it's sure to be contentious, but for what it's worth, "Ghost In The Machine" appears at # 322, "Reggatta de Blanc" at # 369, and "Outlandos D'Amour" at # 434. "Synchronicity" is at # 455. On the one hand, it annoys me that there are greatest hits collections which placed higher (a board I post on is debating whether these should be included at all), but on the other, I'm just happy the band are on the list at all. Like someone here said recently, they often don't seem to get recognised like this... http://www.rollingstone.com/features/coverstory/featuregen.asp?pid=2164 Believe it or not, I finally saw a TV spot for "Sacred Love". Surprisingly it wasn't even put out by the record company as direct promotion; it was on an HMV ad recommending it as a Christmas buy. Is it just me, or did "Brand New Day" get TV advertising apart from the "Desert Rose"/Jaguar advert? Finally, on the official site, Sting asked which of his videos people liked best, and someone mentioned one for Gabriel's Message. Has anyone seen this? I love the song... Angeline P.S. Strange problem: when I try to mail stuff to the list address myself, without replying to an existing list mail, it gets bounced back. Anybody else have this happen? _________________________________________________________________ Find a cheaper internet access deal - choose one to suit you. http://www.msn.co.uk/internetaccess
