Re: [Police] Symphonicities...& Steven Mercurio
Hello Bruce, hello the rest of the gang, I keep telling everybody how I have problem with Sting and orchestra together. I mean, I love orchestral music and for sure, I love Sting, but I still struggle to get the vibes of them both in one if you know what I mean. And I’m wondering how much Sting is paying you to spread the word of this tour being so great and everything? Nice joke, huh? But you know what! Your reviews are so contagious. Not to mention the set list which I should admit is just inspirational!!! It surely helps to appreciate my 2 tickets for Sting gigs in Baltic countries in September. On the side note, I'm still surprised that the energetic presence of Steven Mercurio seems to get less publicity then I would have expected! You just can’t miss the guy! He is like Gulliver in the land of Lilliput! His seems to have the right manner of conducting for showbiz. I mean it shows talant but also is very attractive! Not perhaps what I would normally expect from orchestra conductor! Thus I believe his input in overall ambience of the gig must be quite strong. Is he indeed stealing some parts of the show? Did you like him/ couldn't care less etc... Anyone who’ve seen the gig willing to comment here? Hugs and kisses, Panda

Just came home from the Toronto show that finished an hour ago. Wow. Wow!!!! WOW!!!!!! Truly incredible. I am at a loss for words? I don?t remember seeing Sting so relaxed and having so much fun. I can?t believe how much he talked between songs?and the music ? my God it was amazing. Straight to My Heart, Moon Over Bourbon Street, End of the Game, Why Should I Cry for You? were all highlights for me...and King of Pain too ? possibly the best song of the night!!!! I never thought I would say that! I just can?t believe how well those songs worked with the symphonic arrangement. I am regretting my decision to be fiscally prudent, and for once, only going to one show. I also made the decision to go to just one show based on my initial feelings that this album was a bad idea and was just another thing Sting was doing because he has no new material at the moment. Well, I must say, I ?mis-underestimated? (hasn?t someone said that before?) Mr. Sting. If you are someone who decided to give this tour a pass?and I totally understand why you made that decision, because I was very close to doing the same thing?I highly recommend reconsidering. It was a fabulous night. If you like Sting?s music, you won?t be disappointed. Still on a high, Bruce
yes Panda ,i agree with bruce...if you like Sting music you wont be disappointed. I saw the concert in Wolfsburg,Germany, and even if it was much shorter then USA shows,it was great and to be honest it didn t looked an orchestral music,....it was Sting music and he was dancing and clapping and calling people to sing with him.... I think it takes the best he can in a live concert, but also when the cd starts with "next to you".....JESUS!!! I like it! ciao and see you somewhere... ----- Original Message ----- From: Agrita Panda To: police@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Saturday, July 24, 2010 8:15 AM Subject: Re: [Police] Symphonicities...& Steven Mercurio Hello Bruce, hello the rest of the gang, I keep telling everybody how I have problem with Sting and orchestra together.
