Humble suggestion re: "polls"
Humble suggestion: If you'd like to do a poll, I'd suggest that you have people send your answers to you OFF the list, then you could compile the replies and post the results. It'd make for a better list experience and a clearer set of data for the poll itself. I think that's a good idea. I appropriately volunteer for the least loved poll that I recently started. The only reason to not do the compile-off-list is it may reduce discussions that would result from the list-postings. But, I think those discussions would likely happen regardless, only the individual opinions would be lost (but that might be a good thing). I'll post consensus in a week or so if I get some responses. Thus far "Mother" and "Canary ..." are in a tie. ;) M
