THE POLICE at the Commodore in Vancouver
Hello I need some help! I've bought about 50 live photos from ebay. The seller is sure they were taken at the Commodore in Vancouver. From the band's look the photos are from early 1980. I know that they played the Commodore in May 1979, but the photos are NOT from that concert. But the only Canadian concert known so far is from the Coliseum in Vancouver from February 2, 1980. The next known gig is from February 5. So there's quite a gap where some other concert may have taken place. I've already asked the Commodore people if they can help me out there. If anyone knows the inside of the Commodore well I would like to send him some scans of my photos where the stage and ceiling can be seen... thanks bye Dietmar
I saw 10,000 Maniacs there around '88. So if you like I can check them out and see if it looks familiar. -----Original Message----- From: police-bounces+sting=shaw.ca@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:police-bounces+sting=shaw.ca@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of DtmrCls@aol.com Sent: April 27, 2004 3:37 AM To: police@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [Police] THE POLICE at the Commodore in Vancouver Hello I need some help! LOL, I'm afraid there is truth in that. Remember the "bootleg" I recorded? What her is referring to is, I was a big fan back then, and I brought in a mini recorder to tape the show. I had too much to drink and after they opened with "What's the Matter Here" (great song by the way) you hear the sound getting quieter, as I walk to the bathroom. Doors open and shut, then, well, then......the sound of me praying to the porcelain God. It didn't sound pretty. And my "bootleg" consisted of half of the opening tune, and the rest of me getting sick. That is "What was the matter There." -----Original Message----- From: Jeremy (cheeky) [mailto:cheekyjeremy@earthlink.net] Sent: April 27, 2004 2:39 PM To: Ross; police@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: [Police] THE POLICE at the Commodore in Vancouver I saw 10,000 Maniacs there around '88.
