Re: [Police] Semi-OT: Metallica's new idea
That's incredible. So now the band that testified before congress that downloaded music was the evil that was going to bring about the end of the music buisness has their own free download site? Whee. Go Metallica. On a brighter note though, that is actually a pretty cool idea, and I'd love to see Sting do it as well. Of course, with all the shows being so similar... But it would be good, and it is a good way to raise interest in a given band, or their current material, etc. -Tim

Or do like Metallica: They have opened their own bootleg site where anyone can download all the shows from their current tour (http://www.livemetallica.com/). Now that, my friends, is embrasing the new technology rather than whining about how bootleggers steal your money! Will we ever see Sting do something like this? Sadly, I think it's gonna be a cold day in hell before that day comes! I choose to believe that it is his management who block all these great ideas, but maybe it is our man himself? I can understand and fully respect that his focus is first and foremost on the music, but does anyone know how much he cares about all the "other stuff"?
