Fortunately mine did. As strict as my Italian dad was, I think they knew how important letting me go was. I never asked for much (parents were both school teachers, no money!), but I think I may have been a different person if they DIDN'T let me go (like a teenage runaway???) It was a major turning point, and I think I recall having a major blowout w/them and going to my room and just thumping my head against my headboard until they said yes. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, there's no way in HELL I'd let my daughter (when she's 15) go to a concert 2 hours away w/her best friend and her college brother and friends!
