OK, sorry this is a little late. Today at work has been the day from hell, and operating on about 6 hours sleep over the last 48 hours isn't helping.

Actually, asside from the Band-Aid and Live Aid connections, there are several :) 1) Sting sang backup on a song called "The Promise" by a band called "Arcadia" - which was one of the two Duran splinter groups formed in the mid-80's. 2) Miles Copeland became Duran's manager last year or the year before. He was with them for a few short months when the original members got back together. Those are the most direct connections that I can think of. Another one that just now occurs to me is that Sting and Duran guitarist Andy Taylor both grew up in Newcastle. Mitch p.s. - I really enjoyed the article, even if it was not Police-specific. :)
