Yeah, and after he retires he'll decide to go back on tour in 25 years with his solo material. Funny thing, though 1977: Sting is having a *great* time! With the boys, having a laugh. 1992-ish: Ten Summoner's Tales. With the band, having a laugh. 2007: Back on tour with the boys. Having a laugh again. He seems to go in 15 year cycles. Yeah, you could be right on that. I try to ignore what I don't want to do (or can't) by going on tour as well, lol...
Good theory, and it *is* going to be a hard act to follow. I hope this doesn't mean this is IT for him and wanted to end w/a bang. I can't imagine that "retire" would be in his vocabulary, but stranger things have happened.

Something just occured to me... Sting's last studio album of original material came out four years ago. He followed the Sacred Love tour with the Broken Music tour. That was followed by the lute project. And now The Police will be touring for over a year (I'm certainly not complaining about that). Before Sting sits down to write and record another album, it will probably have been six years between albums - the longest amount of time between any of his albums.
Could he be avoiding writing new material by constantly touring? I also think that his next album will have to kick ass in order to have any relevance after the Police tour...
