I've been reading about this in the newspapers. TicketBastard is essentially getting into the auction business with high profile shows from high profile artists. It's not just Sting. TM's rational is: people pay wayyyy over face value on eBay and to scalpers for shows they really want to attend. Why shouldn't we (TM) get that money instead of the eBay sellers, etc???!! Let's just cut out the middle man (profiteers, if you want to call them that), and get more money for ourselves. TM is auctioning off the best seats to lots of shows and if the program is successful, it will expand to other artists, I'm sure. It pisses me off, because sometimes I'm lucky enough on the computer or stand in line long enough to get a great single seat near the front. I was front row for Annie Lennox a few months ago through some miracle on TM. But now, I won't even have the chance to get lucky on a ticket. The best seats will go straight to auction. I go to a lot of concerts, but I'm afraid I might be priced out of some of them, now. I suppose I'll go to more shows for newer/smaller artists who are currently not on the TM radar. I'd rather pay someone on eBay more than face value than support TM even more than I already do (which is a lot!). It's all about the money. Maggie
