wonder if they were the first ones to sell out shea after the Beatles. I missed the Ferguson interview, is it available anywhere? I saw him in LA in Nov., think he's the funniest guy to hit the air in a long time.

My grilfriend doesn't believe me when I tell her that The Police were the first -worldwide- supergroup. The Beatles really just ruled the US and Britain. So, I wondered if anyone knew any facts that put the Police up there as one of the most influential bands in history.
It's my understanding that The Police were only the 2nd band to sell out Shea Stadium, after The Beatles. Is this true?
