“Never to be wrong, never to make
promises that brake, is like singing in the wind, or writing on the surface of
a lake”
And many, many other.

Sting Lyrics
Jenny,
you picked my absolute favorite Sting
lyrics. Think how powerful those words are! My second choice would be:
"Seems that when some innocent dies
All we can offer them is a page in a some magazine
Too many cameras and not enough food
This is what we've seen
Driven to tears..."
I was in Jr. High when Live AID and the
Ethiopia Famine were being publicized and this made me really stop and think
that the things I was seeing on TV were real people, not just pictures. It made
an impact on me. I am grateful to Sting for that. Also, I would probably have
never read Lolita if not for him, not to mention countless other books for
which I am also grateful.
