I am going to buy it today Mario P LMFT --- On Thu, 10/1/09, sockii <sockii@earthlink.net> wrote: From: sockii <sockii@earthlink.net> Subject: Re: [Police] "We're done" To: Cc: "Police mail list" <police@mailman.xmission.com> Date: Thursday, October 1, 2009, 9:19 AM If you read Stewart's book, it's pretty obvious why a new Police album ain't never gonna happen. I wouldn't be holding my breath for it--though I wouldn't mind an odd show here or there. Which is fine w/me - I'm glad to have Stewart doing his own thing and new material again (been highly enjoying the Ben Hur cd and hope to get to see the production if it ever makes it to the States.) sockii PS: My review of the book is up here for anyone who might be curious: http://sockii.policefans.org/?p=112 On Oct 1, 2009, at 11:53 AM, Chris Babcock wrote:
I am too. I thought I would never ever get the chance to see them live (was deemed "too young" by my parents the first time around). Saw them 3 times, once at the beautiful Gorge Amphitheater in Washington, and now I can die happy.
However, if they got together and tried making new music as a band, I would be extremely interested to see what they would come up with. They've gone in such different directions and had all these accomplishments, it would be cool to hear how that would change what each of them brings to the table.
I feel that the reason that the whole is better than the sum of it's parts (as great as those parts are) is because they each had to bring their A game in order to get their songs approved by the other two. Would love to see what kind of sounds would make it through that filtering process at this stage in the game.

As shocking as this may sound I don't particularly want another tour UNLESS it is to promote a new album. I'm not convinced I would go see it (I'll give you all a minute to get up after fainting).
Of course I love the Police but a reunion tour without new material was the safest thing they could have done. Don't get me wrong, who can blame them-loads of "easy" money and I got to finally see my favourite band of all time before I die and soon enough Sting will tour with new material.
I'm satisfied.
I wonder if it is really over, never say never

Stewart cracks me up! Thanks for sharing, don't have as much free time as I used to, so I haven't been lurking around his website lately. On Sep 30, 2009, at 6:36 PM, Pete Ashdown wrote: Stewart Copeland on CNN:
