I wonder if he is having a good time iwth andy and stewart. the rolling stone interview showed sting being pretty stale and of course he is only doing this for one year.

Good theory, and it is going to be a hard act to follow. I hope this doesn't mean this is IT for him and wanted to end w/a bang. I can't imagine that "retire" would be in his vocabulary, but stranger things have happened.

That was followed by the lute project. And now The Police will be touring for over a year (I'm certainly not complaining about that). Before Sting sits down to write and record another album, it will probably have been six years between albums - the longest amount of time between any of his albums.
Could he be avoiding writing new material by constantly touring? I also think that his next album will have to kick ass in order to have any relevance after the Police
