Hi all....I'm one of those who used to e-mail a lot in the past but lately I've been too busy and couldn't check anything else than Stewart Copleand official website that I run. Anyway, I don't have Andy's book yet but I will have Sting in concert in a few days here in Milan, and it will be a magic night as the location is one of the most fascinating churches in town. Will you be here? Still waiting for my copy to arrive <sigh>
Loved Does everyone stare.... ranks up there will all of the Police vids/dvds that I own. Reminded me why I started listening to them all those years ago...mainstream radio in Aus had banned Roaxanne and the only station that played it was 2JJ - ironically 2JJ was and still is part of the national broadcaster!
I still never ever saw the entire video the band shot down here with the sheep running around. What was it for???
Cheers from down here!

I really enjoyed Andy's book too, and--much to my surprise, honestly--I found his pre-Police story so fascinating that I was almost let down when overly familiar incidents started to creep in circa 1977.
*Almost* I said. There were some fascinating insights, like debunking the myth that Henri's firing was his "fault" (i.e. Stew and Sting's attempt to recruit Cherry Vanilla's guitarist), or the insight into the "non-police saxophone sh*t" music on GHOST IN THE MACHINE. I came away impressed with his life, sad (of course) about the death of The Police, and wondering if I should feel bad about having always really liked Every Little Thing Is Magic. Also, I was newly convinced that yes Sting was a jerk then.
The idea of "framing" the book with Shea was a brilliant one, and gave Andy a good excuse for the various digressions he wanted to make. Very good story about someone with a passion for music who has pursued it his whole life. I really loved it.
Christopher
PS--The group *has* been dead, but so have all the websites I know of. Anyone know a non-dead place?
