I want to see the 3 of them, I want to hear the 3 of them, don't want to be distracted by back up anythings, I paid good money to see THEM! I too am a Police purist, would die to see the 1977 version over the 1983 version! However, won't hold anything against them, they will do what they think is best for everyone's sanity (there's as well as ours) ;-)

So I was just thinking about this issue, and realized something:
 
If they use samples, what's to say that they can't remix and rearrange stuff, ala Derangements? How cool would that be?
 
On the other hand, that also shackles them to a certain song structure every time.  I think the boys have grown beyond that, and limiting each night to a set way of playing a song seems antithetical to what they're getting bakc together for:  They still have creative energy.
 
Just a thought.
