I do see this as one of those "Stew and Andy are into something/Sting isn't so it gets vetoed" things. As I recall, Andy was the one who mentioned their having jammed on new songs, which we were even told would be on the setlist. And the new album thing... was that kicked around by Stew, Andy or both? It's frustrating seeing that shot down... I mean, what harm would it have done to jam a bit with a new song or two onstage? It's great that Sting's managed to relax a bit with the control freak thing, but I wonder a bit when he says "why change a setlist, it's not broken, so..." - it seems at odds with his role as a musical experimenter, someone who's always happy to fiddle with individual songs and even re-use bits of them in creative ways. We don't necessarily change things only because they're broken - we change things to revitalise them and have new experiences. :/ Ang
