Viewers get an unprecedented view into the creative process and access to a superstar preparing to bring his latest work to the public. TV G A&E IN CONCERT continues with one of the most popular and successful recording artists and performers of all-time -- Sting whos sold nearly 60 million records and won 16 Grammy Awards during his career. The show links intrinsically with Sting's new album, allowing A&E crews, for the very first time, to join the artist on his journey as he actually creates his new album and then performs the songs with his band at his Malibu home, then in a concert in Los Angeles' Mayan Theatre. Sting's last studio effort, "Brand New Day" and the subsequent live "...All This Time" did their job escorting us across the space between millennia. Their elegant and multicultural content spoke to a world in transition. With A&E IN CONCERT: STING: SACRED LOVE, comes a new opus from Sting; a collection of songs that once again looks at the future with awe, and at history with care. Sting has mined the collective soul and presents a stunning set of songs fueled by timeless themes; love, war, faith, betrayal and redemption, yet crafted in a manner entirely forward, modern; very much like the artist himself. A Television First A&E IN CONCERT: STING: SACRED LOVE brings a special (and associated DVD) that allows an insider's view of the development of these new songs and, provides access to the first-ever performances by Sting and his band. Making a record is not an organic process. The musical performances are layered on top of each other, one at a time, in a painstakingly long process. The only people who actually ever "hear" the music are the composer and producer who are engaged in a process of creating what they have imagined. The film will explore the migration of the songs from the studio to the moment that they are performed live for the first time. Sting will then gather his band at his Malibu beach house and for the first time these songs will be played in real time as A&E Network records their birth. Viewers will watch songs come to life in the hands of these players who will all know their parts from the studio but who will never have played this music together. No musical artist has ever let an audience see this most intimate part of the process. These songwriter's versions of his new music will grow over the ensuing days as the band moves from Malibu into a theater in downtown Los Angeles where the performances will gain in intensity. The new songs will be intermixed with older Sting and Police classics. The songwriter's versions will likely be less structured than the tracks to be released on the new CD. These performances will showcase the songs in their infancy. The result will be a documentary which offers real insight into the creative process and access to a superstar preparing to bring his new work to the public. The A&E audience will be there every step of the way as we move toward the first ever performances of these songs, an event that will embody all of the magic seen, felt and heard in the process of creating great music. -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .
