Sting referred to Every Little Thing as a
song he wrote in “1878 or something.” The intro has been re-worked,
hence “Here is an old song many of you have never heard before.” The
past three shows, he’s said something to that effect before Magic.
So no new song. Just a great concert of
classic Police songs.

Subject: [Police] Brand New Police
song unveiled last night?
Hello fellow fans,
I was wondering if anyone from this list can confirm the following, that The
Police apparently played a brand new song last night at their show, something
called 1784? Here's the only information I have about it right now:
"One
of the highlights for me was a 'new' Police song that Sting announced as 'Here
is an old song many of you have never heard before - 1784.' It was a very
hard rocking song, almost like a sequel to Synchronicity. It was short and
fast, perhaps a little less than four minutes long. It seemed very modern for
today's radio play."
If they did play a new song last night, I for one am sorely disappointed that
they decided to wait until the very last performance of the first leg of their
tour to release it. Kind of a slap in the face, in my opinion. My
one major criticism of their
Thanks to anyone who can shed some more light on this. Maybe there IS
hope for a new album after all.
