I was digging through old emails and found this written by fellow lister, Matthew. Hey Matthew, do you remember any more details from this conversation you had with Andy? Cheers, Jon ----------------- Mathew Hoffman [mathew@wattobay.com] Fri 10/3/2003 5:45 PM Hi all, I asked Andy about this when he was down here in Oz back in 2001. He said the track was a just another version laid down for the what was supposed to be the re recordings of all the hits. If I remember correctly Sting had told the Australian Music press, during the '84 tour what the band were going to do for the 6th Police album - reinterpret all of the police hits. (Gee nearly 20 years ago , now I am starting to feel my age!!!) I'll have to get ahold of a copy of that. I had no idea." when they asked him why DeDoDo'86 was on the DTS hits. Christopher --- Jon & Susan <jsmessier@gmail.com> wrote:
On the 2000 release of "Every Breath You Take - The Classics" DTS Version, there has been a lot of discussion regarding the version of "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da." If I remember correctly, there was an article that quoted Andy or Stewart about the remastering of that song. Something about they couldn't fine the original tapes and therefore they had to use a different version of the song. Now on to the question, does anyone know what article and publication this was discussed in? I need specifics!
My memory is not what it used to be, so any help would be great.
Thanks in advance!
