<<I'm always griping that Sting only goes to Houston, SA and Dallas. Never Austin. Last time I saw Sting in Austin was I think in 1996 when we still had the larger outdoor amphitheater. >>

Hey, Michelle in TX, my wife & I were there too.  We had great tickets, something like ten rows, a little left of center.  We lived in Austin back then, literally just a few blocks from. . . what was the venue called, Southpark Meadows?  I like the open-air venues.  Sting sounded really good that night. That was the Mercury Falling tour, when he did the "I'm So Happy. . ." audience participation event.  The Christian group Jars of Clay opened.  I always thought that was a little bit odd.

We also saw The Soul Cages concert at the Erwin Center a few years earlier.  Concrete Blonde was the opening act.  The sound was really terrible for that one, but I enjoyed that it was just Sting and three musicians.
