Wow!!
Just got back from the gig and it was EXCELLENT! Maybe the best one
since MF-tour (which was my first...)!
I
don’t have any idea what he has played recently live, haven’t read
any posts concerning it, cause I don’t wanna spoil the “surprise”
of the setlist before the gig. And of course I don’t remember all the
songs he played, but you’ll get the same set on next gigs also. If
somebody has some lists, could you please send some to me?
I
can’t say any bad words about the fanclub seating, we got the ones right
in front of Sting in the first row!!!!!!! We had a pretty good party with my
friends in front of sold out arena, maybe 8000-10000 people were there. But
since we had the best seats, it was us like a small club-gig, and it really
felt that they were just playing for us! Amazing feeling! Sting playing for me
just 2 meters away....
Anyway,
the gig started with a very beautiful version of Walking on the moon (after the
Thousand Years instrumental begin), Sting playing double-bass. The next one (if
I recall correctly) was the techno version of Send Your Love, but I can’t
simply remember what was the order of the songs he played...
All
the songs from SL, except Book of my life and Beautiful Smile, (And the new
version of Stolen Car, has that been played before? didn’t like it so
much though...) of course those normal Police songs (Roxanne, EBYT, Sync 2),
Desert Rose, If I ever lose..., Englishman in NY, Fragile, Fields Of Gold, Brought
To My Senses, and Thousand Years, BUT unfortunately no I Burn For You... sorry
guys, I know that’s what we’ve all been waiting for (at least a lot
of us J ).
All
together I really liked to idea of starting and ending the gig with Thousand
Years, it gave a nice feeling to the whole show. Sting was in good mood,
looking really good and so was everyone else also. Whenever I Say... was really
good with Joy singing, I think it’s the worst song on the record, but it
really worked as a live version. Sting and Joy had really good time singing it,
hand in hand... Keith is absolutely amazing, and so is Jason. By the way Kipper
was there also, was he on the earlier tour at all?
This
new player for me - Rhani Krija – was really good addition to the band,
he had a really great time, keeping up good feeling. Joy and Donna were of
course as lovely as ever, and Dominic was his own self, looking good!
I
should get some professional photos from the show, but I’ll get back for
that later. ( when I know whether I’m able / allowed to give them to
anybody, and whether I even get the photos).
So,
really looking forward for the RAH gigs in few weeks, see you there!
Now
I have to go to bed...
