That's one problem with the world today. Lots of people are so afraid that they might piss someone off that they avoid saying anything the least bit negative.
Yeah, that's a good point. Another problem is speaking of people in generalization. It's wrong in principle, who cares if it's insulting to anyone or not. I don't care if Sting pisses someone off by speaking his mind, I say go for it, but "a bunch of long hairs"? Yeah, the terrorists won't get upset, and what do we care if we offend them? The point is that we shouldn't turn ugly onto ourselves. I think Sting had a moment of anger, like several of us have had-- or just had. :) I think he replaced what suddenly came to mind (which was probably really offensive) with what he said. Obviously, if he had thought that much about it, he would have said something more intelligent. I think this is such an issue to me, because of how too easy it is to just disregard people and lump them together. The point isn't whether you're offending someone or not. The point is that you should be specific. I know, such a big point for such a relatively small thing that was said, but...a point nonetheless.
