Thank you! So it's just an adapter, not a totally new turntable from the two replies I've gotten so far. Good to know... not so sure my old turntable works, it's probably less expensive to buy a new one than track down a new belt for an old turntable!

My husband has been looking into this for us, and apparently you need some special adapter.  Has something to do with the line out on a turntable being different from what they use today?

I'm really not sure.  My dad has it figured out (he's a radio engineer) so I will ask him and get back to you.

Subject: [Police] Vinyl Records/Question about transferring to CD viacomputer....

OK, thanks a lot, Jon ... anyone have a tourniquet for the money hemorrhaging out of my wallet? Between this, the tour, and Andy's impending book? I'm toast. : )

What an unexpected treat (time suck) looking at my stash has been trying to figure out what I already have and need (want). Besides the Police related stuff, I found my stash of old vinyl that I loved enough to drag w/me during each move. My goodness, does anyone remember the Swimming Pool Cues? I used to LOVE them and totally forgot about them. The search brought back such fond memories! Where did all the good music go?

Now, my question to all of you...   Do any of you have the record player that you hook up to your computer so you can transfer them to disc? If so, would you recommend it, and is it easy to figure out? (I have an imac) So many long lost songs on that vinyl, I'm dying to hear them again and share them w/my kid
