Hi all,

I went to the concert in Nashville on Monday night as well.  I thought that the concert was ok.  The highlight was Sting and Dominic singing Shape of My Heart during Dominic's set...I knew that they were doing that song together, but it was funny to see the rest of the crowd's reaction when Sting walked out. He also introduced Annie Lennox's set which I thought was very classy and nice.  I was in the eighth row as well, but was on the right hand side (seat 1) and my view was quite bad.  I could only see Dominic, Jason and Sting during the concert and missed seeing the video screens as well as the rest of the band.  I expressed my dissapointment with the ushers as well as security and they stated that it was Sting's crew that had set the stage up that way.  I did call the venue on Tuesday and left a message since I do not think that it was right for myself and others in the same general area to have paid full price for tickets that were clearly "restricted/limited view".  For 101.00 in ticket costs and fees I do expect to be able to see the entire stage.  Needless to say, my experience at the concert was somewhat diminished because of the seating problems.  I did however get to take some pictures and bought a signed copy of Broken Music.  It was funny, I had to wait at the merchandise stand for them to bring the books from the backstage area where Sting was signing them.  I offered to go and get mine and the others from Sting personally, but my offer was not accepted (darn!).  The other interesting tidbit from the Nashville show is that Wynonna Judd (a great fan of Sting) was in the wings of the stage for the entire show and Sting actually motioned her onto the stage for Every Breath You Take, but she did not come out to sing.  Keith Carlock's family was in the audience as well and had a really funny banner that they unfurled when Sting did band intros.  All in all, it was a good show, but I have to admit that I liked the show in Philly at the Tower Theatre in March better!

Subject: Re: [Police] Sting in Nashville....

Hi all, couldn't agree more mike. I just got back from Nashville and the show last night (I'm from Cincinnati) Let me start from the beginning, I got in the car with my lovely wife on Sunday to run a few local errands. Five hours later we pull into Nashville. She had suprised me with 8th row center stage tickets. I was and am still blown away. We had an incredible time, it was incredibly human and Annie even mentioned how hot it was. Sting's shirt was completely soaked and he hasn't sounded better, he said he had a froggy caught in his throat. I saw him in July here in Cincy and he had just as much energy as before. Same exact set, Highlights included Synchronicity II, Deads Man Rope, Roxanne (he incorporated King of Pain and another Police song in the middle, possibly Driven to Tears into it) it was awesome. He smiled alot and made eye contact with the audience, flirting with girls in the few first rows. Being that close is unbelievable, after the show Danny (Sting's tech) left his drink on the stage, a woman went up and took it, and we figured out that it was Lemon Lime Gaterade. Anyway, enough rambling, if my wiffe kidnaps me again to a show I wil let everyone know how it went, I sure love my wife!
