Michele,
I appreciate your opposing viewpoint. I haven’t bought a studio recording of Sting’s since Ten
Summoner’s Tales. I lumped all of
his studio efforts together as the “studio crap”. I will continue to purchase the live albums as I find these
much better. Interestingly enough,
I have been able to listen to most of the new album from websites that have
been posted by members of this mailing list. Maybe I should post a review of the album from someone who
has chosen not to buy it.

JP,
Respecting your opinion about not buying
the album based on other people's opinions on this list, I only want to say
that I bought the album, have played it on my computer while working (not the
best quality), like some songs, dislike and skip over others (after a couple of
listens), such as Send Your Love remix, Shape of My Heart (live), and
now Moon Over Bourbon Street.
I really like many of the other songs on
this album. This is my own personal opinion, not swayed by the list
opinion. I don't feel this album flows as well as others, such as 'Ten
Summoners Tales' or 'Soul Cages', but I still like most of the songs. His
harmonies are wonderful, and his song-writing ability still amazes me,
especially how he creates the feeling and mood with the music, as well as the
lyrics.
But then again, that's only my
opinion. Sting is not God, and there are many other talented artists
in this world, both new and old, many of which I listen to, and oh
yes, buy their cds!
By the way, I'm a little confused.
You said you proudly didn't buy this album, yet you "will continue to skip the over produced (and badly produced) studio
crap". Do you own the album or
not?
Ciao.
Michelle
