I also heard this article over the airwaves this morning, and at first I was upset, then the more he read the more I laughed... Was it Blender mag? who the f*** cares?! I always find it humorous when people try and pass off something like this as "factual" when music (as an art form) is nothing but subjective! And millions and millions of folks apparently disagree with this writer... I sure as hell do.

Interestingly, I heard about this earlier today on CBC radio. You could
tell that the host of the program thought it was a bit off that Sting would
top this list. He said something like "I imagine there will be a lot of
upset people across Canada when they hear this," and he proceded to play a
bit of "Russians".

Ironically the lyrics were among the reason I think sting is brilliant.
Granted rhyming Nabokov with cough is weak, at best. But we all know
there are too many brilliant moments to count.
