[Police] R & R Hall of Fame

Given (what I consider to be) the pretty slim list of possible inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it's almost a sure thing that the Police will be inducted. Yes, the committee of judges can go back to nominations from previous years, but I only see a few obvious choices for the 2003 list. Some are downright laughable. They might be good or interesting bands, but were they seminal to Rock and Roll. Elvis Costello and the Clash are probably the only other safe bets. It's nice that the Police were nominated in their first eligible year.
