M, if I am not a real musician, then what am I?  If Stewart only wants to "shows the world that he loves playing drums" instead of playing music, fine, I certainly do not need that kind of player in my band.  Question to you, what if all Sting and Andy decided to do was show off their bass playing, vocal and guitar skills, what would have happened?  Total destruction of the song my friend.  Stewart took advantage very well on "showing off" appropriately during Roxanne, and I am sure during Message, but he should have put the integrity of the band first and play with more finesse during Every Breath.  The man is probably the best hi-hat player I know and I do believe he is an incredible drummer but there was so much more he could have done to show he was more about class and show the world that outside of the jamming hard, the Police could also sail or cruise with finesse and class!  He is not a child, class musicians under such pressure and excitement maintain control, the way Sting and Andy did!

Obviously you guys aren't real musicians. Understand that Stewart has not
played with Andy and Sting in 17 years; he goes to New York and has a distinct
feeling in the back of his mind while he is there that this may be the last
time he will play with his band. Therefore if he plays with so much emotion
and puts too many fills in on such a simple song as EBYT I think the man not
only has class and charisma but shows the world that he loves playing drums,
being in the Police and jamming with the two people he made history. When you
two had made history as Stewart did, then you can talk about playing with too
much emotion. Otherwise don't make such crass remarks
