MessageHello everybody from Giovanni in Milano! I just left Stewart Copeland at his hotel! He was happy to meet me and Lydia, after our meeting in Milan in July! I have to many things to sya, but I'll concentrate on press conference: - THE POLICE I can confirm we will play in New York in March; IT'S CONFIRMED and I'm very happy for that! There are no other plans....but....I'm working on it..... They wanted us to perform three songs....but let me tell you...just wait...we wanna do a lot moreeeeeeeee!!!! We were asked to play some other places like the Mandela Concert next year...at the moment Sting didn't say yes....I asked Andy if we could call Bono...ahahaha! He said many things about the way they worked (nothing that we all know...) (he joked a lot about Sting opinion about the Police, but in a very funny way, with lots of 'faces') Of course the journalists were so impressed about the news of the Police (the only ones who knew about that were Lydia and I), and they kept on asking about it. - AFRICA He talked a lot about his journey in Africa, telling he was jailed and on that night he discovered some cool music on the national radio (I don't rememeber where he said he was); that night gave the sense to all the trip to Africa back in 1985). - STEWART COPELAND'S ORCHESTRALLI I love the way you Italian say the word 'Orchestrali', that's why I called the project this way. There is a percussive ensemble from Los Angeles and the orchestra is Italian. I'll play stuff from 'Rumblefish', 'The Equalizer' and some other ballet music I did for the Oklahoma Company. - JAZZ My father obliged me to listen to jazz, that at the end I couldn't stand anymore! It's not that I hate jazz, but everything that you are forced to becomes a little frustrating. Jazz people thinks rock musicians are not good...but we got all the girls! It's not true we got all the girls, but that's what we want them to think! And they think it's like that! - SOUNDTRACKS (my question) I'm working on a couple of tracks: 'I AM DAVE' and 'DEAD LIKE ME' (he did some very good comments about this last one, a comedy). The directors don't know I'm here, and I didn't tell them.....ehehehe.... - ANDY SUMMERS (he did some very funny explanation about how he play tennis with Andy! So funny) He is tall as Napoleon and use to play with his trainer, that usually gives the ball exactly where he is; I don't play like that ... we never end the match as he got nervous about the situation (and he mimed Andy!). Tell Andy I said so! - STING When I met him he was a jazz musician; he remained a jazz musician and he still is a jazz musician; I just tought him how to make a punk song, then he came up with great songs, but he never gave up being a jazz musician, that's where his mind has always been. And it's obvious that his direction after the Police would lead him to play again jazzy stuff. - DERANGEMENTS (He explained everybody what he did with The Police songs (same things we all know); journalists were shocked about the news! He said Andy was absolutely happy to listen to this stuff, but Sting was a little bit 'cold' about it, even though he like part of the stuff. He's working on putting them into 'remastered' Police album and put them as extra tracks). - OYSTERHEAD For sure we will work on some more stuff! I really enjoyed that work so much! Trey Anastasio and Les Claypool are CRAZY! Real crazy guys! - THE DOORS I am a fan of the Doors! It's a great chance to play with Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger; I'm not interested in doing new tracks, even if we are talking about it; I'm there to play the classics! If there will be some new songs, ok, fine, I'll play them, but that's not why I am in. John Densmore can't listen very well and can't work again on a project like this. A for now I don' remember very well about other stuff, but I'll make a complete transcript at the end of next week to put on www.stinghcronicity.com with lots of pics of the meeting! ...and tomorrow is my birthday!!! 35! I'll be with Stewart! What a better gift? When I told him he came in July and that was Lydia's birthday, now it's my birthday... he shouted out loud: THIS IS CALLED SINCHRONICITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ciao ciao Giovanni
