I have only just had the chance to see the performance, and after having read about the horrible Kanye West, I was expecting the worst, but comon guys, it wasn't that bad!

Kanye West was bad - very, very bad! BUT before he polluted the stage we were treated to two full verses of The Police with the incredible John Mayer who, apart from being a huge and long-time Police fan, is one of the most amazing guitar players out there today, and that saved the day for me! Check out "Neon" from his Room for Squares album if you don't know his talent. My immediate thought when I heard him was "If Andy gets sick, call up John Mayer!".

It'll take a lot more than a silly rapper with limited talent and severe pitch problems to "ruin" a performance like that, as someone has claimed.

BTW did anyone else notice how Sting seemed to ad. lib. an alternative ending to the song? He accidentally sings "Message in a bottle, sending out an SOS", and Andy looks over with that "What was that" face. Sting thinks, "Oops, that was wrong, but if I do it again, it'll sound like it was intentional", so he does. Stewart is baffled, and only when Sting looks over to signal the "real" ending are they back on track.

Anyone who has spent time on a stage playing music for other people will have tried this (I tried it several times ata wedding just this weekend :-) ) - it gives me comfort to see that even after 30 years of playing, it still happens!

You don't even need Mayer, but he's a huge fan and he's ok in my book so I'll  let it slide. But then you bring on some no-talent chump to belt out "yeah, yeah, yeah's" and incoherent dissonent kiddy lyrics in the middle of what some might consider  your most iconic song?... Fuck off Sting!  I blame that decision on you and you alone. Even if it wasn't your idea, I know you aproved it despite Andy and Stew's opposition (and IF Andy and Stewart approved it too, then fuck you to all three of you). You're THE POLICE!!! You can't improve on The Police by bringing in some low-life talentless name-of-the-month to appeal to the younger crowd. You're actually doing the younger crowd a disservice. Teenagers today still think Every Breath is a Puffy song. Worst of all,  I'll Be Missing You is considered "classic rock" by today's youth...

Does Sting not know a good thing when he's IN one?

And while I'm at it, does no other guy here feel like his childhood was raped when watching Transformers? If Optimus Prime and God are one of the same (and as an 8-year old I thought they were), then Michael Bay will burn in Hell...
