I would go with the Sandman Inn -  most reasonable rates for downtown, or the Rosedale on Robson if you want something a little nicer but still close to GM Place and the Shark Club. !! I would also recommend going to the Shark club for a get together before the show, people can eat if they wish to, or not - I can make a reservation if people who wish to go get back to me. Yes you need your passport .... and yes this IS REAL!! There is no waking up from this one :-)

17 days to go to the Fan Club Show!!!! Everyone bring their cameras :-D

1. Are we going to get together before/after the show for dinner/drinks?
2. I have my airline tickets purchased.  What hotel do you Vancouverites
recommend?
3. Do I need my passport to fly into Vancouver from the states?
4. Is this real?
Reasonably priced hotels near the venue:

Sandman Inn (right across the street and on top of the bar we should all meet at called the Shark Club)
Georgia Court
Hampton Inn

More expensive hotels but also quite close:

Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
Four Seasons
Sutton Place
Hyatt
Marriott Pinnacle
Marriott Renaissance
Pan Pacific

Passport is now mandatory to have if flying back into the US.  It is still not mandatory if driving back to the US, but helpful to have.  Some other form of ID, like a drivers license, is required.
