I suppose we won't know until we get there, but it seems to me that as a rehearsal for the public opening night, the stage, the lighting, the screens, everything will be exactly as it will for the start of the tour, meaning the stage at one end of the arena. Especially if chairs, etc. need to be set up for the next night for a "regular" end stage arrangement.
Still, you can't beat $50 for any show.
Too bad about the seats already on eBay and Craig's List from scalpers.

Ah, we have a thinking, clearheaded person in the group!
Sounds like a good theory to me!
I had the same experience last week w/the Killers. Thought I had crap
seats and they ended up being stellar due to the set up. I'm sure everyone will be happy no matter where they are in there that night!

So much animosity towards section 117! I think you need to remember the following:
from http://www.thepolicetour.com/news/news.php?uid=5087
"This will be an extremely special show as only certain areas of GM Place will be sold, so the venue will be kept as intimate as possible."
I take that to mean that the stage will be positioned in front of section 106 and facing section 117 (http://media.ticketmaster.com/en-ca/tmimages/venue/maps/van/18114s.gif). I shan't be there to see it myself, but if I was a bettin' man,
I would bet that's were the stage will be.
