Hi
Give it a chance, Dietmar! Upon first listen, I couldn't say I loved it, but after taking a break for a couple days, I'm getting there! There are a few songs that I love now, and I'm sure with each listen, it'll only get better.
there's just one part on the whole CD which is promising, it's about five seconds before every chorus in THIS WAR. I wanted to skip every song after two minutes. No catchy or interesting melodies (to my ear).
My girlfriend shares this view (she bought the record - poor girl). She already tried a second time and thinks about giving it to a friend.
There are only a few CD's in my life I can say I loved upon first listen, and oddly enough, none of Sting's solo CD's are one of them! I've grown to love them. I think it's a good thing though. He's brought us on a long journey, trying to open our minds to different things (in my case---country music).
I experienced that on MF, where I thought it were a bad record, but at least some songs on the CD were good from the start. Now I think it's a very good record.
Don't play that CD until Thursday, OK???
Michelle
you bet!
