I thought the rumour of doing just 1 new song (the 007 movie or something else) was a good idea. 
 
That way, they can 'test the water', and if it's a hit, THEN they could proceed and do a new album.
On the other hand, if the song was a flop, the damage to their 'legacy' would be minimal (eg. Don't Stand '86)
