their 'premium membership" is like a social discrimination, trying to give the 'power' to the only ones who have enough money in the pocket.... We can't say, 'I'm a better fan that you as I gave 100 $ to Sting while you gave nothing !".... Nonsense at all ! And that's what they tried to put into shape in our heads in a way...
I strongly disagree with that - while the CD-ROM certainly wasn't worth the extra $ over the basic membership (in my opinion), no-one, especially the fan club, were trying to bring about any elitism. It's like saying that people selling single beds are saying "Hey, you're ugly, you'll never get a partner", or McDonalds for selling "regular" soft drinks for 'regular' people, and anyone else who has large or supersize have either got too much money, or must be fat.... The fan club offered what they thought was an 'extra' cherry on top of a membership. Not everyone might want the CD, but knowing how much they cost to produce, even in a small quantity such as 300, they could have afforded to give the CD-ROM away to everyone, and not need to have a 'premium' fanclub.
We just need to receive back some nice things (in exclusivity) and not just be feed like hungy pigs they will at the end throw out when we'll stop providing them that famous money....
Well, they're hearts are in the right place, and they obviously thought they were good ideas. You can't please everyone, and I know I've done my share of moaning. They're trying their best, but unfortuantely, I don't think it's good enough. Sometimes it's difficult when your hands are tied, but at least they've tried to contact several people, myself included, to try and explain things on a personal level. I'm greatful for that, but still disappointed with what I received for my money.
