Here's the response I had from Tina, after telling her that people here were upset at having to pay more for tickets through 'official channels', only to find them being sold for less on Ebay.... Following her response, I'm watching the auctions, so we'll see if they actually sell for more than $224... (Cost of membership + price of 2 tickets through the club). Interesting to note that currently, there are no bids on any of 9 pairs they've got. Perhaps raising the profile of the club actually relies on people looking for "sting" stuff, and I'm sure if people are browsing Ebay for Sting stuff, they'd already be aware of Sting.com..... Tina's Response: Thanks for your note. It would appear that whatever news has been 'broken' on the police mailing list does not give you the full picture. A full description of the terms of the auction is available to read on the ebay site. Sting and the Fan Club are making available some charity auctions which comprise a pair of tickets for the Paris show bundled together a premium membership. The starting price for these auctions is $160 or equivalent in sterling or euros. The packages are for AUCTION and not available as 'buy it now' options. The intention is three fold: to publicise the website and fan club; to publicise the special concert; and to raise money for a charity of Sting's choice. Cheers! Tina J.
