Hi
from Giovanni.
Sorry
it took me so long to reply to your e-mail about the Police DVD Stewart told me
about.
Stewart has set up a new Police dvd with unseen footage
from his private collection, full of incredible stuff, from the early days to
Synchronicity tour!
Soem
examples? The band at their very first in-store appearance, with an excited
Sting in front of 10 (!!!) fans (no other fans appeared at their first in-store
promotion); Stewart said it's amazing to see the band at that stage, the early
vibes.
Some
other stuff comes from their arrivals in the various places with people coming
in front of them, screamin' and shoutin'...but the main thing about the dvd is
that Stewart would really push to release it, something he did not for the
Derangements; this time he really wants to get it released!
He
selected something like 20 hours of footage and got a couple of hours to be
included in this release.
No
plans by now, no release date, not even a confirm it will ever be
released!...but let's all prey this will happen!
Ciao
ciao

Hi
guys, Giovanni here.
Yesterday I got a phone call and after
my..
..'hello?'...
a voice from the other line

..'Giovanni?...I'm Stewart Copeland, how are you?'...
What
a surprise and what a pleasure!
He arrived in Milano on Friday and will
leave soon to Rome to rehearse for
the event on May 1st.
Today we met
at the studio where he is working on the new dvd recordings of
LA NOTTE
DELLA TARANTA, mixing and dubbing some tracks, great stuff, really,
great
stuff!
Lydia and I sat at a table with Stewrt and after a cup of tea
(he made it),
we started talking and talking and talking!
Apart
from personal issues, some of the things we talked about were the
Klark
Kent video and audio recordings from the early days (I love that
stuff),
the Police dvd (it will be a must must must for every Police fan as
he
describes it!!!!), polo, tennis, Sting, Andy, pics, Sting book,
the
concert in Rome, the Orchestralli cd coming out, Oysterhead, the site
and
some more great issues.
It was really a great time, I'll give you
some insights soon; by now I can
tell you that I asked him the permission
to upload music and video to
www.stewartcopeland.it and he gave the ok,
or at least he said...
...'sure, you can do it, maybe this can give
the people the chance to listen
to my Derangements of the Police tracks,
or see some videos, or maybe listen
to the unreleased Jeff Beck
sessions....'
We discussed some other issues concerning the site (he
keeps on reading the
messages on the fan area) as I have decided to
improve the graphic and make
it a more professional site.
I have a
very close contact with a webmaster into Stewart (he lives close to
my
home) and this will give me the chance to work on it in a better way
and
directly; I got some offers from some of you about webmastering, and
I still
thank you so much, but due to 'technical problems' I couldn't get
it.
To build a new site will take some time but will be a real and
professional
site, that's what Stewart deserves.
Anyway, a car
crashed against the wall of my house today, and I spent part
of the day
with insurances papers and all that stuff, but the day ended in
the best
way ever!
Yes, this is like winning the world cup for me....
Ciao
ciao
Giovanni
